In Our Element

This page holds creative landscape and nature photography by co-creator of frances, Alex Feliciano, that directly inspires us in our everyday life. We hope it inspires you too.

This series of photographs is titled “Red Dust.” A wonderful opportunity for reflection as we travelled around numerous parts of the ancient landscapes of Sedona Arizona.

Art is the purest language of the soul.
— Alex Feliciano

My intention is to capture the essence of my subject. The camera is the vehicle which transmutes their soul into digital medium. Each stone, each subtle curve of branch, each prick of thorn, has a story to tell. There is a grand design that lays hidden within all forms and only when we sit in stillness, can we derive the wisdom of their teachings. These images point towards the painters brush, the source of all things that animates our world, yet holds no claim to creation as creator. Each image is an expression of time caught within moments passed. We feel the whispers of this movement through the composition of the image. Strong figures that fill the lens with dynamic presence and create an atmosphere the breaks through traditional static conceptions of what photography is perceived to be. My goal is to sink to the heart of spirit. Themes of time, soul, and the cycles of life and death fill my work.
